Knowledge is power. Knowledge shared is power multiplied.

– Robert Boyce
The Acres Foundation aims to extend the social impact of its existing schools by strategically sharing its human resources and intellectual property with individuals and institutions embedded in a range of educational contexts around India and Asia. To this end, we are engaged with three broad lines of action – research and publication, professional development, and collaboration for social impact.

Scholarly Research

While The Acres Foundation model is inspired by prior research from international contexts, it is validated based on research from our own unique context. We cannot merely copy-paste ‘best practices’ from international research and expect them to magically work in our schools in India.

The term ‘research-based’ is thrown around rather casually today, but we are very deliberate in our use of this term. In order for an idea to be considered ‘research-based’ at The Acres Foundation, it must be tested and prove its efficacy against the constraints and affordances unique to our context.

Our goal is to design empirical studies on topics related to curriculum, pedagogy, leadership, and the other essential supports that influence the quality of schooling, and then publish them in credible international peer-reviewed scholarly journals so that our methods and findings are scrutinized against the highest benchmarks of rigor.

Media Articles

In addition to scholarly publications written by our research team in collaboration with expert researchers from around the world, we have also published articles in magazines, newspapers, and online sources, written by teachers and leaders at The Green Acres Academy schools.

Take a look at some of our most recent articles:

Professional Development

The Acres Center for Teacher and Educational Leadership (CenTEL) is responsible for developing cutting-edge, evidence-based, systematic professional development programs for teachers and leaders at The Green Acres Academy schools. Our most popular and impactful online courses and face-to-face workshops are being available for teachers and leaders outside the Acres Network too. Collaboration for Social Impact

Our team members have consulted for schools and informal educational institutions across India and South Asia to improve teacher capacity, curriculum, parent engagement, data driven decision making, and leadership, all towards maximizing student learning outcomes. Collectively, these projects served more than 85,000 students. This vast experience is being leveraged today by The AF Research Centre to provide pro-bono support to non-profit educational institutions in the region.
